The NFL’s return is among the most welcome things to happen in sports bars. Just the prospect of 17 weeks of NFL action can make your restaurant relevant again after enduring the dog days of summer.

Not much has changed from prior years as DIRECTV continues to control the NFL Sunday Ticket exclusively until the conclusion of the 2022 season. That means three primetime games per week on Thursday, Sunday, and Monday and a full slate of games all day on Sunday.

The beauty of football is that not only does the NFL fill your midweek with content, but NCAA Football is also running parallel to the pro game. This translates into virtually every night having content to for your hungry football fans. You should already be fairly booked with your draft parties if you are featuring those. Feel free to visit our Football Marketing Bootcamp site for some ideas on that score.

Otherwise, it’s business as usual with programming rules. The NFL uses flex scheduling later in the season, but predominately the primetime games are fairly settled. You’ll always want to check your daily guide for the most accurate data. We will also be sending you the Football Weekend Preview that outlines all games on the Monday before the upcoming week’s schedule. It will include spreads for the NFL and NCAA and ranking for the college games as well.

We look forward to another great season. Ratings were much better last year and the NFL is stronger than ever. Let us know if you are doing something innovative and we will be happy to feature you in a story on The Daily Rail. Just make a comment below and leave your restaurant name. Enjoy your season.
